Lives in Cabarete, Dominican Republic
*I’m a US/Canadian citizen living in the Dominican Republic, but I’m open to moving to the US or Canada.
I lived in many countries as I was growing up. Egypt, India, the Netherlands, and finally the US. I moved to Idaho part-way through the 8th grade, so I feel most connected to Idaho as my “home.” I went to college in Southern California and worked there for a couple years before moving to Nicaragua for 3 years in my mid-late 20’s. In my early 30’s I was accepted into a startup accelerator run by the Chilean government, so I lived in Chile for about 8 months. I’ve also lived in Hungary for a total of about four years off and on. I purchased a condo in the Dominican Republic over 2 years ago, and have been living here full time.
I live living in nature and would prefer to always live near water. I do water sports and love having an outdoor lifestyle. I’m willing to do a 50/50 split between two places, but I really don’t want to live in a city ever again. Perhaps I could do a small town with lots of nature near a big city.*
BA in Design and Visual Communications from the University of Southern California
Works as a UX designer
*I work remotely for a US-based startup. I love my work but I like to spend my free time outside and away from screens as much as possible.
I think money is something you should invest well and note waste. I am living a lifestyle far below my means so that I can retire early in life.*

Has four full and half siblings
*I’m very close with my mother and my sister who is two years younger - she is my best friend. She lives in Denver so I travel to Colorado at least once a year to see her, and she comes to me in the winter and spends two months with me.
Everyone in my family is quite smart and fairly successful. I was one of five, so I have a big family, with most of them living in the Boston area. My mother was a stay-at-home mother, mostly. It was a huge blessing to have her. I always felt very cared for and loved. My father was an uber intellectual who spoke seven or eight languages.
I hope raising a family will be my greatest accomplishment. Both my parents always encouraged my artistic side, and I’m grateful for that.*
Wants 1 to 2 kids
I think kids need to spend a lot of time outside and off screens. The more unstructured play time, the better. I think that school environments should help kids harness their creativity and problem solving skills rather than bully them into memorizing facts.
Religion: Christianity
I grew up in a moderately Christian household, which informed the values I hold today, but I am not a true believer by any means. I’m not sure yet if I want to raise my children Christian or not. I would be open to someone who is Christian and is willing to go to Church with him if that is important to him.
Political Alignment: Centrist
I don't like wokeness but I'm also not super conservative. I vote independently. Would prefer a conservative partner over a liberal one.

I really admire when people are intelligent, but lead with their heart in decision making. I also admire people who are generally kind and generous, and who have figured out how to meld their passion with generating income.
Love Languages: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time
Good cook
I love to cook. I make healthy gluten-free meals because I’ve got a gluten allergy. I like to make balanced meals that include protein, fat, and carbs. For example, one of my classic dinners is wild-caught salmon with sweet potatoes and broccoli. Curries are also one of my favorites because I lived in India for three years as a child, so for me it is comfort food and an easy way to make something boring like chicken into a flavorful meal. My diet is very healthy, and I prefer to cook rather than go out and eat.
Drinks only very rarely
Sense of style:
I’m a bit of a hippy when it comes to style - I like what is comfortable but cute. I live in the tropics, so I tend to wear comfortable yoga shorts and tank tops, and a lot of swimsuits with lightweight dresses. I am very natural overall - I don’t usually wear makeup.
Sense of humor:
My sense of humor is probably a bit weird, but people seem to like it. I like to say outrageous things and to make fun of people close to me and have them make fun of me back. I think laughing at oneself is very good medicine. My favorite comedians are Tim Dillon and Ricky Gervais.
Core Values:
I value being authentic, which to me means being truthful with yourself and others. I value having a spiritual practice of some kind, even if just taking walks in nature. Family means everything to me. I strive for positivity - there are many negative things we could focus on, but life is really beautiful if we remind ourselves what is good.
Likes pets but doesn’t have any
I particularly love cats and have only owned cats as an adult, but I also love dogs and think they make great companions. In my perfect world I would have both.
Hiking
I’ve had a lot of amazing experiences, but one that sticks out is hiking the Camino in Spain with my sister. I didn’t do the whole thing, but it was an intense spiritual and physical experience nonetheless.
Kizomba/Salsa/Bachata Dancing
Dancing brings me so much joy. I’m a fairly good salsa and bachata dancer, and am improving all the time. I’ve also recently taken up Kizomba.

Reading
I love all kinds of books, mostly fiction but also nonfiction. I usually read upwards of 100 books a year. I think I could write endlessly on this topic, but some top books for me are: Animal Farm, Pride and Prejudice, Shantaram, the Goldfish, Dune, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Memoirs of a Geisha, Wild, Tribe, the Coddling of the American Mind, Sapiens, the Alchemist, All the Light We Cannot See, and In the House of the Spirits.
